A short introduction to Mary Koperdraat.
Writing has been my passion and my life since primary school. A few years after primary school I followed my first "calligraphy" course. I was immediately devoted to creating and creating calligraphy. Afterwards I developed myself further in calligraphy through courses and I still do this. Every year I follow an internship with a recruited calligrapher, who can come from both home and abroad. In addition, I write daily and practice traditional letter forms. We call it mileage in calligraphy. Designing and developing new letter shapes yourself is a challenge. I very much like to promote calligraphy and am therefore also a board member at the Dutch Flemish calligraphy association Scriptores. They publish a beautiful full color magazine and organize internships and working days. I am also a member of the Calligraphy Circle West Friesland. This association meets monthly during the winter months in Berkhout. In 1983 I started my own company Mary Koperdraat Calligraphy |  |
